News
Dear Finns and Friends,
First of all I hope that you are all having a great summer and being able to spend some time with your loved ones. I am please to let you know that we are in midst of planning and executing all the arrangements for the 2010 Finnish Independence Day Gala thanks to the leadership provide by Petri Heinonen, our Gala Chair. We are preparing an exciting program with a variety of activities of which more details will come in late August. I can advance that we will have entertainment by the Tommi Lantinen Trio and the Runnaway Finns and the Gala will be held at the NYLO Hotel in Irving, Texas. We recognize that we are still not out of the woods from the economic recession so we will do our best to keep the pricing for the Gala tickets at comparable levels as last year.
We are also planning a variety of Fall Programs like an Economic Outlook for 2010/11 by Dr Albert Niemi, Dean of SMU’s Cox School of Business, an Immigration Application Process presentation by Gardere & Sewell as well as Hockey Nights/Days with the Stars for both Networking for adults and a Family Hockey Day for families. Details of these events will be published in early September.
